Mr & Mrs Greensmith had one of the more unusual looking parquet floors we have restored. The floor was original to the property circa 1950. The wood block floor was a mixture of species, including Maple, Iroko, Wenge, Idigibo, Muhuhu and Brazilian Mahogany, despite making up only a small proportion of the floor, the unmistakable smell of Muhuhu (aka African Sandalwood) filled the room with its pleasant aroma as we began the sanding process. The beautiful array of colours within this floor were hidden by many coats of tarnished old seal. Stilletto damage was also quite prevalent across the whole floor (Looked like it had seen some parties in its time !) neverless we carefully sanded away all the damage to reveal the vibrant looking floor beneath. Our customers were delighted with the finished results.
