Most of our clients are not aware of the beautiful colour of natural oak. Nicky wanted this bedroom floor re-sanding as it was heavily worn / scratched and dented.

She was delighted when our 'deep sanding' process revealed the light (comparably) wood beneath, plus remember it's all done using our completely dust free System.

Our client wanted to increase the size of the existing matwell. Timberwolf modified the existing space, fitted new barrier guard matting and carefully restored the (extremely thin) English Oak parquet battens.

We replaced many of the original damaged and split boards with matching re-claimed material, as the before photo shows, the original state of the floor was pretty bad ! Years of alterations plumbers / electircians chopping into the boards had left the boards in pretty poor shape.

We replaced over a dozen of the existing boards with matching re-claimed material, we also filled all the joints / gaps to prevent draughts and provide a seamless finish. Here the Lacquer chosen was Ultra Matt, the reflection of light on the floor in this south facing room is minimal with this option.

This reclaimed Jarrah parquet block had been recently fitted throughout the ground floor of this large contemporary, single story property in Poppleton by other local contractors. The clients were not happy with the floor & the finish in general and contacted Timberwolf to see if we could improve on the original installation / sand / finish.

Timberwolf secured and re-fixed the many loose blocks, sanded and removed contamination that had been left on the surface of the blocks. Polished the floor to give a mirror like appearance, removing the marks left by the original aggressive sanding and finished with isolating primer and 3nr coats of Bona HD Lacquer in 'Satin'.  

Whilst Matt and Ultra matt finishes are very on trend, this client specifically wanted a finish to 'Lift' the natural colour of Blocks. The 'Bona Satin' provided exactly what they were looking for. 

Timberwolf carried out this sand & seal for main contractors 'Geo. Houlton & Sons Ltd'. The floor required a natural looking finish to appear almost unfinished. It was primed and finished with 3nr coats of 'Bona Traffic' natural. This provided the ultimate in protection whilst offering no visible sheen.

Restoration of this 1930's Oak Parquet batten floor originally seemed pretty straight forward. Sanding and buffing followed by 3 coats of Bona Lacquer - As per usual ! It was only when the home owner removed all of the carpet, the night before, and revealed a nasty, deep channel that had been hacked into the floor .......to house a Door bell wire - Sacrilege !!!  The homeowners decided to have a Matwell created, Timberwolf then used spare pieces from creating the matwell to replace the damaged section that had been created by the channel. It's not often that we get to restore this beautiful exotic wood, Afrormosia now being on the endangered species list. Special attention required when sanding Afrormosia, very prone to shelling / dish out.  As the before photo shows, the previous finish had worn through completely, deep sanding was required, followed by a very careful buffing process (hard-plating) to remove inevitable dish out. As the 'after' photo shows, our floors shine even BEFORE we put the lacquer on !! We used a special isolating primer followed by Bona Traffic.

A busy multi-function hall desperately in need of refurbishment, Timberwolf sanded the floor back to bare wood using our HD Bona belt sanders. Primed the floor and then applied 2 coats of Bona Traffic, re-instated all the court markings with Bona Line marking paint and then added 2 further coats of Traffic. Large or small ... all our projects get exactly the same attention to detail, resulting in a spectacular final finish !! 

We sanded the floor boards in this nursery room, before staining with our 2 component snow white. Unlike some Oil stains, this stain gives a true white finsh, yet still allowing the timber beenath to be clearly visible. This was finshed with Bona Lacquer in Extra Matt. 

This floor originally stained in a dark colour had become worn, particularly along the edges with slight cupping caused by a leak. The floor once dry (tested with our moisture meter) was sanded smooth and finished with a caramel stain, to give a hint of warmth, yet retaining a lighter, fresher appearance. 

These boards were covered in very dark bitumen based paint that was commonly used around the turn of the last century, without the right equipment, removing this residue can prove almost impossible. Timberwolf uses the world's most powerful floor sanding machines, that soon made short work of what we call the 'Black Plague' 

Boards in this condition are no problem for Timberwolfs' powerful sanding machines. These boards were stained using our very popular 'Walnut' shade and finished with an 'Ultra Matt' Lacquer.

The before image shows just how stained and discoloured this oak floor had become, very typical of a floor treated with Hardwax Oil that had not been maintained. Our client was very concerned about any sanding marks that may still be visible after the restoration, due to the large amount of light flooding the room through the floor to ceiling glass doors. As the image shows..... any concerns were unnecessary - Timberwolf ! 

It's unlikely that the carpenters that originally laid these beautiful pitch pine boards had any idea that one day they would be sanded to a smooth blemish free finish, if they had, maybe they wouldn't have left them so uneven.... in some places we sanded up to 10mm off these boards to make them smooth. Treated with our 'Slate Grey' solid colour and finished with 'Bona Traffic' matt lacquer.

Sanding is not always necessary, particularly with floors treated Hardwax Oil. Deep cleaning and treating again with the right Oils and Waxes, can make a pleasing difference to the overall appearance, costing significantly less than a full restoration.

Timberwolf has many staining and finishing options available, our clients are not limited to a simple varnish option. We offer stains ranging from black through to white, Hardwax Oils and Lacquers with sheen choices available in Ultra Matt right up to High 'Glossy' finishes.

Our client contacted us to ask if we could repair a section of this Engineered Basketweave floor, original to this 1960's property. Although the material had long since been discontinued, Timberwolf custom made replacement sections to infill this no longer used fireplace hearth. We carry out many 'Fireplace Re-stiches' as they are referred our trade.
