These Original pine boards had never had a professional sand. They had been varnished previously and despite looking a little utilitarian, were in extremely good condition. Many of our customers are interested to know how many times these type of boards can be sanded - The answer is as many times as necessary really, it is usual to go 5 - 10 years (in reality much longer) before sanding is required. We only remove a very fine layer of wood, often less then 1mm to reveal beautiful clean wood underneath. Even the deepest gouges and scratches only reach into the wood 1mm - 2mm ... leaving plenty of the woods wearing surface in tact. |
